Ógra Shinn Féin in Lurgan launched the 1Million4Disability Campaign locally this week. With petitioning already well on underway in the area, they have organised a stall for this coming Saturday 29th September in the town centre.
The campaign was launched by Ógra activist Cllr. Johnny McGibbon, Banbridge Cllr. Dessie Ward and Upper Bann MLA John O'Dowd.
Cllr. McGibbon said,
"This campaign has been gaining support right across the board. A campaign that reaches into all communities and is based on equality, people have been signing in mass.
"In the run up to the 4th October deadline, Ógra will continue to mobilise throughout the country to maximise the numbers on the petition,
"I would like to urge the public to make an effort to sign the petition when they come across our stalls, or alternatively sign online."
