A week of intense bombing and over 450 innocent Palestinians killed, many of them children.
This is the latest story of innocent blood spilt at the hands of the Israeli murder machine. Ground troops and tanks are now occupying Palestinian lands outside refugee camps, populated by Palestinians who already suffer extreme hardship.
450 people dead inside one week is a damning indictment of Israel's claims to be protecting its citizens. Death is tragic no matter who dies, but in no way whatsoever is an Israeli life more precious than a Palestinian life.
By encouraging the Israeli onslaught George Bush and his outgoing administration have surrendered any moral superiority, by dwindling on semantics about the status of Hamas, and blocking a UN Security Council resolution, Bush has colluded in the MURDER in Gaza.
By claiming Israel's actions to be defensive, the EU has shown its true colours, to those concerned Irish voters who voted No! 2 Lisbon, that they are little more than a group of neo-liberal fascist’s intent on uniting Europe as a military superpower.
The time has long past for diplomacy, each smile for the cameras that Sarkhozy pulls, another innocent life is lost.
It is time for direct action, to hit Israel where it hurts, just like the actions of the international community took to undermine South African Apartheid, a complete boycott.
Ireland must be a world leader in standing up to the Israeli bullies, and as experienced peace talkers, Irish Republicans must play a constructive role in dialogue between all parties in the Middle East to ensure an end to the bloodshed.
