Today the latest local Ógra Shinn Féin website was launched by Ógra Shinn Féin, www.freewebs.com/osf-cillchainnigh . This launch is another step forward for Cumann Ógra Shinn Féin Proinsias Ó Riain, in Kilkenny. The hope, with the launch of this new site, is that Ógra will be able to reach a much wider base in Kilkenny. The Proinsias Ó Riain in Kilkenny is the latest in a surge of online of activity from Ógra Shinn Féin, on top of the new website, there is a national website, a blogspot, as well as several local websites.

Speaking on the launch of the new website local organiser, Peadar de Bluit, said,

“I am very happy to see this website up and running for Ógra in Kilkenny. At the moment it will provide basic information for young republicans in Kilkenny, but in the future we hope to expand the website introducing public forums for debate, as well as a calender for upcoming activity, and many other features. Our presence on the internet will alow us to reach a wider and more diverse audience and further bolster our membership in Kilkenny.”

“Ógra Shinn Féin are the most active youth wing in Kilkenny and we intend to build on this activity further in the coming months. The national launch recently, of our drug awareness campaign, N.A.R.C., will form the basis of Ógra activity in the coming months. As well taking an active role in Sinn Féin campaigns, such as the NO 2 Lisbon campaign. We hope 2008 can be the most successful year for Ógra in Kilkenny so far, this new website is only the start of a very busy year.”
