Galway Ógra Shinn Féin took to the streets last Friday calling on the Irish Government to expel the Israeli Ambassador. Hundreds of leaflets were distributed on Shop Street, a main thoroughfare in Galway City, in order to raise awareness of the many atrocities which have occured at the hands of the Israelis.
Speaking after the event, Conor Stitt from Galway ÓSF said: “We got a great response from the people of Galway. It seems that Galwegians are outraged at the murder of innocent humanitarian workers carried out by the Israeli "Defence" Forces (IDF) last week and so our hope is that sufficient pressure will be placed on the Government, forcing them to expel Zion Evrony immediately.”
Galway Ógra continued their demonstration by taking part in a locally organised march through Galway City. During the march, which came to a close with a wreath being placed in Galway Bay, slogans such as ‘Israeli Ambassador, out, out, out!’ and ‘Oppression is a crime, Israel out of Palestine!’ could be heard loud and clear.
Saoirse don Phailistín anois!
