National Student Anti Fees March Film

The following is a film of yesterday's (Feb 4 '09) National Student Anti - Fees March in Dublin. It includes footage of the wider march but focusses on Ógra Shinn Féin's participation on the day, including Pearse Doherty's speech and interviews with some youth activists.

The march had upwards on 20,000 people on the streets of Dublin united in protest against the Dublin government's plans to introduce student fees. The march began at the National Garden of Remembrance on Parnell Square and made its way to Leinster House where their was various addresses and the marchers staged a sit down protest closing the street for 45 mins.

The march and similar actions against the introduction of fees are massively important and it is crucial that Ógra Shinn Féin is involved and leading in this campaign.

Make sure to view the film and pass it on, and with it, spreading the message 'Free Education For All!'

Great video, guerilla radio goes well with it. Hopefully those chants will materialise into votes against 'Greena Fail' at the next election!

The recent student marches are the closest ive seen to the Basque Youth marches, Ógra need to harnass this potential and build on these radicalised times.

With Gaza and an economic recession, people are more likely to get invoolved in tackling social injustice and inequality.

Now is the time to turn Ógra and SF into the mass party we have always dreamed of.

Charlene (real name)

PS - Glad to know Cilla and David are fans ;)
