Young people in Tyrone have heard the story of Che Guevara on the 40th anniversary of his death. The life and legacy of Che Guevara was a public talk in an act of remembrance to this revolutionary icon.
Tuesday 9th October marked the fortieth anniversary of the murder of Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara by Bolivian soldiers. To mark the anniversary the public talk took place in the West Tyrone Sinn Fein offices.
Students from various schools in Omagh attended the talk Given by Jim Falconer. Jim explained about Che’s life and death at the hands of the Bolivian army, sponsored by the CIA. He also talked about Che's powerful legacy after his death, especially the emergence of a strong revolutionary spirit amongst many people across the South American Continent today.
The Omagh talk was only one of a number of events to be held across Ireland this week remembering the Iconic Revolutionary's 40th Anniversary.
