Ógra Shinn Féin to Organise Day of Action
Ógra Shinn Féin will be holding a day of action on Wednesday 22nd November, in various colleges (Magee, Queen's, St Mary's and Jordanstown) through out the 6 counties to highlight the cost of British Direct Rule.
Good idea for broad campaign if you are trying to appeal to non republicans - id prefer if the literature referred to 'BRITISH' Direct Rule.
Also it seems that in the last wile, SF's campaign's have been a bit more watery, for instance 'End Political Policing' compared to Disband The RUC' and now 'Direct Rule - Can You afford it' compared to 'Demilitarise Now' or 'British Withdrawal.'
The new campaigns while maybe important, (discuss) are definately not inspiring to me personally. I'm glad to see Ógra holding the torch high with their new A.R.I.S.E campaign. Good old Smash Imperialism - now thats my Pint of Buckfast!
Buckfast!!! Have you not not read the recent comments of the Fianna Fáil councillor in Galway who is leading a campaign to have a special tax put on Buckfast because of its harmful effects on Irish and Scottish communities.
I hope his is an all-Ireland campaign - with Buckfast being referred to as Lurgan (C0. Armagh) Champagne.
What this country needs is a sobriety campaign first. If it wasn't for the demons buttermilk, Ireland would have had her independence long ago.
