On Saturday February 20th Ogra Kerry/wLimerick held a fundraiser walk in aid of the Haiti earthquake appeal. Beginning at 11am on Bearna Hill, we kicked off with a motivation talk from guest speaker TD Martin Ferris.

Then off we set walking the 5k Southern Trail which lead the group into NewcastleWest town. Finishing at the community centre at 1pm where there was plently of refreshments for everyone. The day was a beautifully crisp, sunny spring morning and we just missed the rain that came pouring down from the heavens from 2pm...phew! It was a great turnout and everyone was impressed with the beautiful scenery on the trail, the majority of us promising to return again.
Presently the sponsorship money is collected, which a current total raised at 1300euros! Once all money raised is recieved we hope to hold a night where our own kerry/wLimerick ogra chairperson Dermot Sherlock will present a member of the choosen charity with the cheque! The date and location is yet to be decided. We would like to thank the West Limerick Sinn Fein cumann for inviting Ogra to come on board in this project and for all their support towards our newly formed ogra cumann.
A sincere "Thank you" to all who dug deep and supported us in aid of this good cause.
