Kilkenny Youth Weekend 2008

Inniu seoladh deireadh seachtain Ógra Cill Choinnigh 2008. Reachtálfar an deireadh seachtaine i mbliana ón 19ú - 21ú Meán Fómhair. Beidh an ócáid ar siúl arís i gcathair Cill Choinnigh, agus súil againn tógáil ar deireadh seachtaine iontach 2007 agus 2006. Táimid ag iarraidh an bhliain seo go mbeidh dream níos mó ná riamh ann chun cabhrú linn béim a cur ar an poblachtánachas i measc an t-aos óg anseo i gCill Choinnigh.

Tá an rath ar an ocáid seo ó a thosaigh sé i 2006 le daoine ó gach carn den tír ag gearradh ar Chill Choinnigh, agus tá súil ag Ógra Cill Choinnigh go mbeidh an rud céanna ann i mbliana. Mar sin tá ÓSF Proinsias Ó Riain ag tabhairt cuireadh do poblachtánaigh óga fud fad na tíre agus iachall a cur orthu teacht chugainn agus páirt a glacadh ins na himeachtaí agus an díospóireacht a bheidh ar siúl.

Níl aon costas ar an deireadh seachtain, ach beidh ar daoine íoc as a cuid bia féin, agus mála codladh a thabhairt leo. Tá clár fairsing leathan leagtha amach don deireadh seachtaine agus é mar thoil againn go leor díospóireacht a ghiniúint i rith na deireadh seachtaine seo.

Today the clár for this year's Kilkenny Republican Youth Weekend as launched. The weekend will take place from the 19-21 September. The event will take place again this year in Kilkenny City, and we hope that this year's event will be as succcessful as previous weekend's in 2007 and 2006. Ógra Kilkenny hope this year will see the biggest attendance at the event yet, and looks forward to Ógra activitsts from the length and breadth of Ireland coming to Kilkenny to help promote Republicanism among young people.

The weekend in Kilkenny has ben very successful since it began in 2006 with people from all over the country descending on the city and the same is hoped for again this year. Therefore ÓSF Proinsias Ó Riain are extending an invitation to young Republicans from al over the country and encouraging them to come along and take part in the events and debate that will take place.

There is no cost to the weekend, all that is needed is a sleeping bag and that people make their own food arrangements. The clár for the weekend is a very wide-ranging one put together specifcally in the hope of promoting a vigourous debate over the course of the weekend.

For more information about the weekend contact Peadar on 0851443832, or e-mail osf_ceatharlach.cillchoinnigh@yahoo.ie

the fact that two events are on the same weekend shouldn't be a worry to activists there's enough people to make both events a success.

Is there a report from this weekend?

I'd be interested to hear how the debate with CYM and LY went.
