West Belfast Republican Youth Weekend – Bígí Linn!

West Belfast Ógra Shinn Féin are gearing up for a Republican Youth Weekend from 19 – 21 September.

The action packed weekend which is open to everyone, will include public talks, political tours, a republican march, craic agus ceol and much more.

A particular highlight of the weekend, will be a talk on ‘Youth In Struggle’ by leading Belfast republican’s Bobby Storey and Eibhlin Glenholmes on Friday 19 September @ 8pm in Sean Mac Diarmada’s GAA Club, Falls Road which will look at the role that young people have played in the struggle, through Na Fianna, the IRA, in the jails, and in Ógra today.




Urging maximum attendance, West Belfast Ógra Shinn Féin organiser Roise McGivern said,

“The West Belfast Republican Youth Weekend is testament to the growing strength of Ógra in the city. The weekend which is packed full of educational and social events is open to everyone, and we would urge all interested youth from across Belfast and wider afield to come along and join in the debate and craic.”

“Throughout the weekend we will have an opportunity to remember our past, pay tribute to our fallen comrades, and discuss and debate the future direction of the struggle.”

“West Belfast Ógra Shinn Féin are delighted to be organising this republican youth event, and we look forward to hosting our travelling comrades and engaging with the young people of Belfast.”

7pm - Bryson/Mulvenna Commemoration evening
Premiere of DVD followed by live entertainment
Whiterock Leisure Centre

Taille 4 Weekend: £15/20euro which will cover billets and some meals

It doesn't clash with All Ireland, there is no events on the Sunday, so people are free to make there way to Dublin from Belfast, or stay in the Felons, Hat, PD whereever to watch the match.
