Ógra Support Sinn Féin Raytheon Protest

Ógra Shinn Féin joined a Derry Sinn Féin protest at the Raytheon plant in the City on 9th January. The protesters gathered to voice their opposition to Raytheon who provide weapons to the Israelis and who are the world’s third largest arms manufacturer .

The event was a number of events organised by locally to voice opposition to the mass genocide taking place in the Middle East. During the protest elected representatives of Sinn Féin delivered a letter of protest to Raytheon.

Speaking from the protest Ógra Shinn Féin spokesperson Adrian Óg Kelly said: "Ógra Shinn Féin have joined the protest here today to voice our opposition to the slaughter taking place in the Middle East and are calling upon Raytheon, who have aided and abetted in this slaughter to cease their arms supplies to the Israeli forces.

“We have all seen the site of devastation in Palestine on our TV screens on a nightly basis and are horrified that a company in Derry has a role to play in all of this. The death toll, ever increasing by the day presently stands at 800. The protest here today and other like it at this plant demonstrates that the people of Derry are opposed to the slaughter in the Middle East. We stand behind the Palestinian people through his difficult time and pledge our support for them.

END THE SLAUGHTER – END THE OCCUPATION!
