Solidarity with Gaza in Coalisland

On Tuesday the first of June, the Coalisland Clonoe cumann of Ógra Shinn Féin erected a banner highlighting their anger at the outrageous murders of 19 humanitarian aid workers carrying essential supplies to Gaza. This is the first of many demonstrations the cumann has planned to help draw attention to Gaza’s plight.

Speaking on the recent events, Ógra activist Álanna Campbell had this to say:

“The actions the Israeli state took upon humanitarian workers bringing much needed aid and relief to the people of Gaza are both barbaric and appalling. The many protests taken place throughout Ireland emphasise and clearly display the solidarity this country shares with Gaza, the victims and their family and friends. Coalisland/Clonoe ÓSF felt it necessary to display their camaraderie with the people of Gaza and their contempt at the utter barbaric and murderous conduct of the fascist Israeli state and therefore erected this banner on the demilitarised barracks within Coalisland town centre. It is important for Irish people to put pressure on the Dublin government to expel the Israeli ambassador from our country, sending a clear message of utter solidarity for those who have suffered at the hands of the cruel, criminal and murderous Israeli state.
