Message from the Basque Pro-independence Youth

Hard times in Euskal Herria, state repression going on, Basque militants disappeared, young people arrested and sent to jail... but the Basque youth movement won´t be stopped. In front of those who want to silence us we stand once more and state clearly who we are, what we fight for.

We state clearly which is our project, we want a free Euskal Herria, a free world, and we struggle for it



We held a meeting in April under the name of “ Peoples´ Europe, young and rebel” with a big number of political youth organisations from all around Europe, to debate around the model of Europe we want to build, to share our experiences in different struggles, to strengthen the links between our organisations.

We all took a compromise, area by area, keep on building another Europe.

As a result of that meeting we have carried out a tour in different countries to explain that there is an alternative in front of the capital Europe. This trip began the first of may in Zurich and ended the 30th in Rome, when three young activist chained themselves to the Spanish embassy.

Unfortunately the trip couldn't stop in Ireland, Irish comrades attended our meeting in Euskal Herria and their ideas were most welcomed, not only for the importance of the Irish peace process to overcome the actual situation in the our country, but mainly for the strong links between our peoples who had, and still have, to fight for their rights.

But especially Irish opinions were most welcomed for the important step that Ireland did on the way to built peoples Europe youth and rebel . The victory that the Irish people achieved in front of the neo-liberal Europe, embodied in the Lisbon treaty.

We have to highlight our support to Ógra Shinn Féin and the whole republican movement and thank them on behalf of all the European peoples for their job and compromise in front of the Europe of capital.

We want to address specially the Irish youth, because we know of your work to achieve a united Ireland once more, but we know also that you don't forget about others and we really appreciate your solidarity and your struggle against the extradition of our people.

We cannot conclude without saying that Euskal Herria and Eire will see each other free and united once more in the future and to achieve this we call the Irishmen and Irishwomen to keep struggling to build.
