Plans to 'Green the North' Well Underway!

The ‘Green Post Box Campaign’ continues to spread across the north rapidly with now over 100 post boxes returned to their rightful shade of green.

Young republicans in Tyrone are particularly eager in the current ‘green offensive’ with over half of all the greened post boxes being in the O’Neill County.

The campaign, initiated by Ógra Shinn Fein, and now proudly taken up by a fast growing number of nationally minded young people, has attracted a lot of attention and publicity to date, appearing in much local, regional and national press, radio and even some expected condemnation from the DUPer’s.



An Ógra Shinn Féin spokesperson said,

“The ‘Green Post Box Campaign’ is intended to instil national pride in people and areas across the north. Every post box greened is a strong visible message that we live in Ireland and that our post boxes should be no different to those in Dublin and Cork.”

“With over 100 post boxes now painted green and a fast growing number of young people engaged in the campaign, the plans to ‘green the north one post box at a time’ are well underway!”
