Armagh Ógra launch Road Safety Campaign

Sinn Féin road safety spokesperson Cathal Boylan MLA was joined by Sinn Féin Councillor Cathy Rafferty as Ógra Shinn Féin recently launched their Road Safety Campaign in the Armagh area.

As part of this campaign Ógra Shinn Féin have put a “Moilligh Síos” video on their YouTube site which highlights the dangers faced by the young people of Ireland on the roads.

Ógra activist Damian White emphasised the necessity for all road users to be aware of the high numbers of fatalities and to take all precautions they can to avoid being another victim on our roads.

Damian went on to say,

“This especially applies to my peers among the younger road users, road death is after suicide, the second biggest killer of the youth of Ireland and Ógra Shinn Féin are campaigning to try and prevent deaths from both of these, so I appeal to all young people to take care on the roads and if they are feeling depressed or down talk to someone about it instead of keeping it bottled up, the old adage still applies 'a problem shared is a problem halved', I just hope that these campaigns help to save lives.”
