The Final Countdown ….

With just over two days left till Election Day at Queen’s Student Union work is well under way to ensure maximum success for Ógra Shinn Féin. The Sheena Campbell Cumann have been actively campaigning and putting a final push on to try and get their candidate elected.

Speaking about the canvassing that has taken place, candidate for Student Community Action Officer (SCA), Dermot Keenan explained what the Cumann has been up to in final preparations,

“Over the last week we have been targeting specific areas of the campus were we know from past results that student turnout has been greatest. We have been involved in widespread leaflet drops, postering and using the internet as resources to get people aware of the elections and get them out to vote, so fingers crossed the hard work will pay off.”

The use of online voting is expected to mean a greater turnout than in previous years and this was one of the reasons the Cumann established a blogspot specifically for the elections.

The elections take place on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th May. Voting will be held online at – www.qol.qub.ac.uk
