Ógra Remember Bobby Sands at Belfast May Day Rally

Ógra Shinn Féin joined various Trade Union and political groups, today 5 March at this years May Day Festival in Belfast. The festival was addressed by Tony Woodley General Secretary TGWU and Jack O’Connor, General President SIPTU.
Ógra activists distributed leaflets and posters to the sizable crowd assembled for the rally, and participated in the march proclaiming 'ARISE and Smash Imperialism'.
Ógra activists also took time to remember Vol. Bobby Sands who died 5th May 1981, after 66 Days on Hunger Strike. Himself a member of the National Union of Vehicle Builders and ATGWU, Bobby made the ultimate sacrifice for an Independent, Socialist Ireland.

Arise ye workers from your slumber....... The May Day marches and trade union in general is something which republicans need to be more active on. Good to see ogra take some initiative on this.
