Ogra Shinn Fein
On Saturday the 27th October 10 young Ogra activists left the West for a tour of South Armagh.
On the way we picked up a few comrades from South Down.
Brenden Lewis, a former Sinn Fein Councillor took us on the tour of all the famous towns of South Armagh including Cullyhanna, Camlough and Crossmaglen. Brendens local knowledge, and stories he shared with us of the gallant exploits of IRA vols. such as Ray Mc Creesh and other unsung heroes was greatly inspiritional and appreciated by all on the tour.
We visited the monument for the 2 Brendans, Micheal McVerry monument and also visited the only Republicain monument in the North that was completely funded by the local council which takes pride of place in the square in Crossmaglen.
After the tour Declan Murphy had the Tea, Coffee and sandwiches waiting our arrival at RayMc Creesh house in Camlough before we returned to Belfast.
I am beginning to think that those West Belfast starvos enjoyed the grub better than the tour. You can take them out of the west but you can't take the west out of them, eh!!!!
