Ógra Announce Spark Editor

Ógra Shinn Féin Comhairle Náisiúnta announced the editor of Spark at their meeting on March 30th in Dublin.
Barry McNally from Carrickmore in County Tyrone was announced as the editor for the republican youth magazine.
Originally launched by Ógra Shinn Féin, over 7 years ago, Spark has been out of print for a number of years.
The idea of re launching Spark was taking by the national executive of Ógra a number of months ago and at their March meeting of Comhairle Náisiúnta they decided on Barry McNally taking the top job at the magazine.
Speaking on his appointment as editor Barry McNally said he was 'delighted' at his selection.
Mr McNally, who is also National PRO for Ogra said,
"I am delighted to be selected as the editor for Spark. Spark, when released a number of years ago, was a top quality magazine and related republican politics to young people, including myself. We would wish to replicate that with the re-launch of Spark. The first issue of the relaunched magazine is to be released in July of this year and we would urge anyone who wishes to contribute to the magazine to email their contributions on to spark_ed@yahoo.ie"
"Spark will include a youthful perspective on local, national and international politics, it will contain satire, youth issues and sport, reviews and much more. Spark is sure to be a welcome addition to Republican Publications, having a unique youthful and fresh perspective."
"When Spark is launched I would urge all activists, to buy it, read it and sell it!"

Spark should be as sleek and professional as the last editions - the graphics should be top quality as should the contibutions. I would like to hear the editor's opinions although we'll probably have to wait until the launch.

Anyway - can't wait to read!

The Spark that will be re-launched will aim to be of the same quality and of the same professionalism as the previous editions of Spark.
The job should not rest soley on the shoulders of me as Editor or the editoral team but on the ordinary person. Get writing, theorising and get active!!
Roll on July!!!
