Ógra Basque Youth Solidarity Protest at GPO

Leinster Ógra activists organised a protest on Saturday (14 April) at the GPO in Dublin, against the imprisonment of SEGI members by the Spanish Government.

Ógra activists took part in the protest, handing out leaflets and with a petition available:

The petition will be sent to the Spanish Goverment to put pressure on them to reverse the six year sentence imposed on the SEGI National Executive members. Huge numbers of the public, were very enthusiastic and stopped to talk to Ogra representitives to learn more about SEGI's role in the struggle for Basque self-determination.

Dozens of signatures were collected on Saturday with an overall positive response from passers by.

Not exactly supporting but he was interested in what it was all about. Most people get kind of confused and curious when they see the basque flag, you'd be suprised how many people think its a butchers apron in the welsh colours.
