RIP Cllr Michael McAnespie

(Michael launching Easter Lily with West Tyrone ÓSF in Easter '06)

Ógra Shinn Féin are shocked and saddened at the tragic death of Omagh District Councillor Michael McAnespie.

Michael was a lifelong Republican, and a member of Omagh District Council for 10 years, representing the Mid-Tyrone Electoral area.

He was a hard working councillor who earned the communities respect by working tirelessly on all essential social issues especially agriculture, health and good relations.

Michael was forever a welcoming and encouraging figure for young republicans newly joining Ógra and was present at a number of protests and public launches organised by West Tyrone Ógra Shinn Féin.

Our deepest and heartfelt sympathies are extended to his wife and family, to his many friends and comrades.

Michael will be sorely missed by Ógra Shinn Féin, especially his comrades who where lucky enough to have known and worked with him.
