Ógra Shinn Féin March in 'Free Palestine' Demonstration

On Saturday the 9th the Irish Palestinian Solidarity Campaign held a national demonstration in Dublin to mark the 40th year of brutal occupation in Palestine by the Israeli state. It was attended by hundreds of supporters and activists.

The march took off from the Central Bank, stopping off outside the E.U. commission to highlight it's complicity in the occupation. There, a speech was given and a die-in held, to represent the massive cost to human life over the course of Israel's history.

The march then finished at the GPO with a number of speakers including Raymond Deane from the IPSC and Hikmat Ajjuri of the Palestinian Delegation-general in Ireland, and Dr. Bassam Al-Nasr of the Palestinian community in Ireland.

Ógra Shinn Féin took part in the event, spokesperson for the youth movement, Oisin Dolan said,

"We send solidarity to the people of Palestine who have suffered at the hands of Zionist aggression and hatred for far too long. We call for the withdrawal of support for the Israeli occupation by the European Union and renew our denunciation of imperialism and all it's by products."
