'Youth in Struggle' film to be launched at Youth Camp!

Ógra Shinn Féin are set to launch a film this weekend at the Coiste National Youth Camp in Ballintoy, County Antrim.

The film titled ‘Irish Republican Youth in Struggle’ will briefly trace the role that youth have played from the formation of Na Fianna Éireann in 1909 until the modern day actions of Ógra Shinn Féin.
Speaking on the film, National Organiser of Ógra Shinn Féin, Barry McColgan said,
“The film is an excellent educational tool for Ógra to use in showing the sacrifice and role of Irish Republican Youth throughout the struggle, in an interactive way. It is also an engaging way of promoting the politics of republicanism to the youth.”
“It is the first film made by Ógra, but in anticipation of its success, we look forward to making many more on a whole range of progressive, relevant campaigns and issues.”
“I would encourage people to view the film, and would especially urge activists to use this to promote republicanism amongst the youth in their area.”
‘Irish Republican Youth in Struggle’ will be available to buy from Monday 25th June, priced £5 or 8Euro.

Just wondering, will it be available in the SF shops as well? It shows just how innovative we have become as a youth struggle that we are able to produce and distribute such materials ourselves. One more point, this website is great, the content, debate, links and general info provide a great forum in which our struggle can reach out to people from many different back grounds. I am also assuming that by the number of people leaving comments, it must get quite a few hits a day. All of this works towards one of SF national strategic objectives, namely to popularise the struggle. - Eamon

There was a Youth in Struggle DVD launched six years ago I believe, when I was a member of Ógra. It went down well, and was much sought after (especially by international comrades) but at the time we never initially thought of producing multiple copies for distribution. So be sure to get those extra copies out there!

Saw the DVD and is very good. Just thought I'd leave a positive comment before people start thinking I'm a grouch after my negative comments on the song!
