Ógra Shinn Féin support Terrence Wheelock Campaign

ÓSF activists took part in a Terrence Wheelock commemoration on Saturday the 9th of June in Dublin City centre. A crowd of over 500 people were in attendance as the procession marched to Store Street Garda Station, the location of Terrence's death two years ago.

All of the speakers present demanded an independent public inquiry into how Terrence died.

Ógra Shinn Féin, Dublin Organiser, Ian Breslin slammed the Garda for their obvious attempts of a cover up, he said,

"This has gone on for over 2 years now, and we still don't know how it came to pass that Terrence died in a cell which was supposedly made safe, we still don't know why that same cell was renovated shortly after Terrence's death before a proper examination of the cell could be carried out, we still don't know why the Garda have refused to release the clothes that Terrence wore on the day he died, and we still don't know why people continue to die in Garda custody in unexplained circumstances."

"Ógra Shinn Féin is echoing the words of MEP Mary Lou McDonald who addressed demonstration, in calling for a full independent public inquiry into the death of Terrence Wheelock and John Moloney."

Great act of solidarity for the family - good speech from Mary Lou, these are the grass roots campaigns we need to be involved in.

We need to take the Guards on head to head - like we are doing in the North.

Terence RIP
