Shell to Sea - Shell to Hell!

Ógra Shinn Féin activists recently (Fri 1 Feb) assisted Belfast Shell to Sea in highlighting the obscene profits gained by Shell.

Speaking from the vigil at Belfast City Hall, Councillor Johnny McGibbon said,

"Shell have continually refused to move their refinery operation offshore in Ballinaboy, County Mayo. Despite the huge dangers that it poses to the local residents, Shell have insisted on an onshore refinery because it will save them money and increase their spurious profits."

"Shell robbed national resources across the world and gathered a huge profit margin of £13.9 million for the year 2007, yet continue to implement bad practices, created dangerous environments and bullying communities into accepting their will."

"A message needs to be sent in the time ahead, through increased campaigning. Shell to Sea
- Shell to Hell!"
